The Problems of Democracy and possible Solutions (PoDS) Network
We are worried about the future of democracy. We are convinced that concerted efforts are needed to strengthen democracies and seek to encourage proposals that envision democratic institutions, practices, and social norms that allow complex societies to cope with the problems that democracies are facing. These are likely collaborative efforts that cross the boundaries of scientific disciplines and ideological divisions, and that engage citizens and all parts of society. We launched The Problems of Democracy and possible Solutions (PoDS) Network to collaborate on two questions:
- What are the main challenges that threaten the stability and quality of democratic systems of governance?
- What innovations should be realized to address these problems and improve the quality and inclusiveness of democratic governance?
